General Government Unit

The Division's general government unit conducts quasi-judicial hearings for several state agencies. Among these are:

  • the Department of Health Services for whom the Division presides over contested case hearings involving nursing home regulation under Chapter 50 of the statutes.

  • the Department of Natural Resources for whom the Division performs all contested case functions in accordance with § 227.43 of the statutes

  • the Department of Justice for whom the Division holds crime victim compensation program hearings pursuant to § 949.11 of the statutes

  • the Department of Transportation for whom the Division performs all contested case functions in accordance with § 227.43 of the statutes

  • the Department of Public Instruction for whom the Division conducts hearings under Chapter 115 of the statutes

  • the Department of Employee Trust Funds for whom the Division conducts due process hearings arising from appeals of benefit determinations for the retirement, group insurance, deferred compensation and employee reimbursement accounts programs.
